Mile: 100,372 Well I must say Id never seeen anything like this! Coming to you straight from Idaho is the world’s largest potato and it did not dissappoint! Weighing in at 4 tons or 21,562 medium sized potatoes it is certainly a sight to see.…

Freedom Isn’t Free

Freedom Isn’t Free

Mile: 109,127 This weekend we did not celebrate … instead we remembered those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to provide freedom to each and every one of us in America. Jackson is still too young to truly understand the true meaning of Memorial Day…

Eggcellent Adventures

Eggcellent Adventures

Mile: 108, 037

We got a few rides in this weekend but no real shenanigans! Had to get ready for the Easter Bunny! Jackson entered into a chocolate coma but revised himself with some chocolate milk. Don’t tell him but I may or may not have eaten some of his candy!

Denmo’s Opening Day

Denmo’s Opening Day

Mile: 107,910 It was Opening Day at one of our favorite roadside stands, Denmo’s! As usual, they did not disappoint! It was a tad bit chilly so we actually ate in the truck. Nothing like some good grub! Jackson even got a ride in the…

Boo!

Boo!

Mile: 106,970 Jackson had a great Halloween! He dressed up as flash and was able to go tricker or treating with his buddies Enzo, Luca and Graham! He also carved his special Monster Truck pumpkin with a lit up smokestack! Ole Red and Jackson certainly…

Barton Orchards

Barton Orchards

Mile: 106,850

As part of our pre-Halloween planning we had to check out this great find on Facebook … Barton Orchards. This is one of the largest apple orchards we have ever seen and they had a pumpkin patch too!

This place was huuuggeee. They had multiple places to eat and a bakery with apple cider donuts. The line was stretched further than Jackson’s patience so that is about the only thing we did not eat that day.

They also had a market and even a tap room for the moms and dads to have some of the apple cider hard variety.

There was a ton of stuff to so. A barnyard with a bridge over the people walking. Luckily we had enough common sense to run under it quickly so we didn’t get peed on by the goats!

Jackson even got to take a bucket of “pay dirt” and sluice it to see what treasures he could find! Just like our experience he struck gold and found many crystals.

They had multiple musicians performing, a magician and even a guy doing chain saw carving.

They also had a pirate’s playground and a corn maze.

And how could I forget RACING pigs!!!!

Interestingly, I realized it was directly adjacent to a planned community called Dalton Farms. When I was 13 or 14 my day would load up his old Ford tractor with a York rake behind it. Him and I would spend the day over there raking out the lawns and then seeding and haying them. I will never forget how badly the hay made me sneeze. I will also never forget the life lessons my father taught me over there and how teaching me that hard work does indeed payoff. We always had to have lunch at the Pot Belly Deli and have some curly fries. Although the Deli may not be there the life lessons my father taught me most certainly are!

Hope you had great adventures this weekend.

Dinner & Dessert

Dinner & Dessert

Mile: 106,703 Nothing like picking up Action Jackson on a Friday afternoon from school and taking him out in Ole Red for an adventure! We went to the 202 Tavern on the Washington/New Milford town line. We hadn’t been here since a few years ago…

Chase the Last Day of Summer

Chase the Last Day of Summer

Mile: 106,631 We know there aren’t many more days left like there was on this day last week. There was a breeze in the air, the sun was shining and by the end of our adventure it was just chilly enough for sweatshirts. Before you…

Goshen Fair

Goshen Fair

Mile: 106,411

Life is pretty fantastic these days… Although it was canceled last year the Goshen Fair was back and better than ever this year! Heather made sure to get her Apple Crisp, I got my Apple Fritters and Beef Jerky from Nodine’s and Jackson pretty much ate everything. His trip is never complete there with a super slushy and a minimum of a half our brain freezes of drinking it too quickly. Got to see the petting zoo and a zebra, all kinds of animals including some piglets. The truck pull was awesome, and it was great to see in person. Even better was kicking it off where they said thanks to all the veterans in the audience followed up with the Star-Spangled Banner. As you can see Jackson zonked out before we even got home so I would call the event a success! Hope you had just as much fun on an adventure today!
