Freedom Isn’t Free

Freedom Isn’t Free

Mile: 109,127 This weekend we did not celebrate … instead we remembered those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to provide freedom to each and every one of us in America. Jackson is still too young to truly understand the true meaning of Memorial Day…

Denmo’s Opening Day

Denmo’s Opening Day

Mile: 107,910

It was Opening Day at one of our favorite roadside stands, Denmo’s! As usual, they did not disappoint! It was a tad bit chilly so we actually ate in the truck. Nothing like some good grub!

Jackson even got a ride in the back of the truck at the office. I remember when we used to drive around Town in the back of pickup trucks. My how times have changed!— at Denmo’s Famous Split & Charred Hot Dogs.

Boo!

Dinner & Dessert

Dinner & Dessert

Mile: 106,703

Nothing like picking up Action Jackson on a Friday afternoon from school and taking him out in Ole Red for an adventure!

We went to the 202 Tavern on the Washington/New Milford town line. We hadn’t been here since a few years ago to warm up after we found our Christmas tree up at Angevine Farm.— at The 202 Tavern.

This was the epitome of dinner with a view! We snagged a seat right by the River which allowed Jackson to occupy himself while we waited. He even skipped (more like plopped) a few rocks.

After dinner, we washed it down with some ice cream at our favorite ice cream place in town … Carvel’s. I am not sure if it is because of Hassina and her daughter working there and their friendly service or the ice cream itself. 🙂

Needless to say Jackson enjoyed gobbling it down as the sunset and we watched the glow of their neon sign from the back of the pickup bed.

Off to the next adventure!

Chase the Last Day of Summer

Chase the Last Day of Summer

Mile: 106,631 We know there aren’t many more days left like there was on this day last week. There was a breeze in the air, the sun was shining and by the end of our adventure it was just chilly enough for sweatshirts. Before you…

Jackson was kind enough to go on a job site I needed to inspect. We turned it into an adventure of course! We brought his bike and got to open it up at a State park. We also found a great spot on the Housatonic River to skip some rocks. Finished it up with a visit to a new favorite … Litchfield CANDY!!!!!! Even got to try his first root beer barrel. The jury is still out. 🙂
