Trains, Tractors and Lots of Lights

Trains, Tractors and Lots of Lights

Mile: 115,045

It was an action packed couple days!

Action Jackson is out of school so he got to spend some time with Papa and Uncle Kyle overseeing our job site. He was pretty tuckered out but still insistent that we spread some Christmas Cheer in Ole Red, which we did!

Saturday was off to the Northern Lights Limited put on by the Railroad Museum of New England. First, we went to Santa’s workshop to pick up Santa. While we wanted for Santa to come to our car Jackson got to play rock, paper, scissors with Rudolph …. And he won! Then we went for a ride along with Santa spending some time interrogating Jackson on if he was naughty or nice. Along the ride we received some hot chocolate, a cookie, a bell and a really cool ornament. Before leaving we hit up the gift shop and found some amazing sleigh bells for the sleigh we tow behind Ole Red.

It was time to rush back into Town. In a flash, we had the sleigh bells hooked up to our sleigh and then we filled our truck with boxes of candy canes. Our Town had a light parade where over 150 trucks, tractors, boats, wagons, fire trucks, quads, excavator, site trucks and whatever else you could think of were decorated with lights. We got back late but were able to drive a part of the route not long after it ended. We were able to throw out literally thousands of mini candy canes to the hundreds and hundreds of kids … and adults …. Who were grinning from ear to ear hearing us blast our music and see the lights. Then it was off to hide a gift card for the night for someone local to win!

It was a great day AND a great night. Can’t wait to see what the next week will bring.

Action Jackson and his buddy Alejandra had their Christmas Concert! It was great to see everyone singing. Maybe next time Jackson will even smile. Hahahaa!

The cookies were great and the hot chocolate quenched our thirst! Almost time for Christmas break and then some coal in Jackson’s stocking … I kid, I kid.

Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze

Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze

Mile: 114,848

A new event for us the GREAT Jack O’Lantern Blaze and GREAT it was! They had over 7,000 carved pumpkins which was a fundraiser for the Croton on Hudson Historical Society. Being that this was near Sleepy Hollow, NY it was a perfect setting!

They had all kinds of pumpkin craziness including minions, dinosaurs, the Statue of Liberty, a function carousel, all kinds of art and so, so much more.

We hot up the gift shop and got some cool trinkets as well.

Before, the pumpkin craziness we had dinner at a nearby restaurant and it was great. They even gave us a tip on where to park to avoid the long lines. It pays to shop and eat local!!!!

If you are in the area DO NOT MISS this next year!
