Action Jackson had a gift card to redeem at his favorite toy store, Nordica Toys. They have new owners and a new layout so he had to take a little longer than usual to check everything out.
When all was said and done he left with some Halloween slime and a Bruder fire truck to add to his ever growing collection.
With the looks of it we will be back before too long.
Not sure what the rest of the day has in store for us but the sun is shining and we have nothing but time on our hands.

Mile: 114,620 We have had quite the summer of RAIN! It seems like every single day it rains. This has significantly cut down on our adventures as Ole Red is Ole Slippery when it’s wet out. We found a break in the weather pattern for…

It’s fair season! Off to the Goshen Fair up in Goshen, Connecticut. We made sure to get up there a little early to beat the heat … which we sorta did.
Heather got her apple crisp which she loves. Jackson got his slushies and chicken fingers. I got my lobster roll.
Jackson and I also got a bunch of beef jerky from Nadine’s smoke house. It will last us almost week. Man that stuff is addicting. Now that Jackson really likes it, it goes quick.
We managed to check out some huge pumpkins, a bunch of antique machinery, animals galore and watched a garden tracttor pull for awhile.
Jackson then tried his hands at the dart game and won’t ya know it he popped a bunch of balloons! He also played a few more things before we called it a day.
He fell asleep on the way home so that’s the definition of a great day in our book!
Life is good!

Mile: 114,510 It was Action Jackson’s birthday recently. Every SUnday we drive down to the local Dunkin Donuts and Jackson hangs with his bud “uncle” Larry. Uncle Larry used to work with my dad many decades ago and him and Jackson have bonded over donuts…
Mile: Many We have started a new tradition the last couple years where we get away to Cape Cod before Action Jackson reports for duty back at school. It is also his birthday so he enjoys finding little things there. We started out by staying…

So anyone who knows us knows fairs are our thing with Action Jackson loving them. We went to a fair that NONE of us had ever been to before … the Dutchess County Fair. We have to say this is by far our FAVORITE fair. Located over the state line in Rhinebeck, New York it is large and it has a LOT to do.
We were overwhelmed by the amount of things and took it all in like an almost 8 year old would!
There was food galore with a great steak sandwich booth, crab Mac and cheese, pizza, ice cream, sugary long sticks of goodness and much, much more.
There was all kinds of reptiles and birds and fishes on top of the regular farm animals. There were litttle piglets, a colt its born and calves.
We got to see old exhibits of how things use to be “back in the day.” There was antique machinery, old trucks, all kinds of vegetables AND the GLOBE OF DEATH!
There was a magic show and even a concert as we were leaving. We made sure to stay until the sunset so we could see all of the booths lit up.
Jackson tried his hand at the darts and popped a bunch of balloons. He may have a career in hustle!
We will definitely be back next year to this one!

Mile: 114,420 We took a little pit stop in the next Town over to Jj Stacks. This place has become a new favorite for us as they have some yummy food. They actually had some live music which was great. Jackson and I horsed around…
