Fall Days are Falling Away

Find That Pumpkin Action Jackson

Find That Pumpkin Action Jackson

Mile: 110,468

Almost as fun as Christmas is finding our pumpkins! We are so lucky in New Milford to have a ton of places to choose from!

First, we went to Harris Hill Farm. They have a huge pumpkin patch with all kinds of pumpkins of all kinds of shapes and sizes to choose from. We also got to go on our annual hayride. The animals were out and about with some pigs, ducks, cow and even a turkey. I would say of all of them the turkey may be the first to go. 🙂

Then we went down to Centerbrook Farm which has been in the Hipp family for generations. In our opinion, they are the king of the gourds! They had all kinds to choose form and Heather love to chose several to make some displays at the house. We got some potatoes and honey and off to quench Jackson’s thirst.

Park Lane Cider Mill has been in existence since way before I used to drink of the jug of cider as a kid. They have this really old really cool cider mill and it is awesome to step inside and go back in time. They also have really tasty apples which we bought. As you can see the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree as Jackson had to drink right out of the jug to have some of that sweet delicious cider … even I did too!

Antique Machinery Show

Antique Machinery Show

Mile: 110,120

The Connecticut Antique Machinery Association puts on one of the best shows of the year that we go to.

They have preserved all kinds of old antique machinery including dozers, tractors, implements, diggers, sawmill and even a rock crusher.

They have an old steam engine that you can ride too!

Action Jackson loves the swap meet and found himself some old matchbox cars to get. They also have a rock museum and what 7 year old doesn’t like some new rocks?!?!?!

We also got to see a lumberjack exhibition which he enjoyed.

We topped it off with a fantastic roast beef sandwich and pretzel. Needless to say he crashed on the way home…. But not after securing our flags we fly off the back of Ole Red.

Hope your adventures were as fun as ours!
