Perfect Pumpkin

Perfect Pumpkin

Mile: 106,780

It was time for us to find some pumpkins and the selection did not disappoint!

We first went to Centerbrook Farm, run for generations by the Hipp family. They had some great gourds and some perfect pumpkins for carving.

Then we headed off to Harris Hill Farm which had the best view of the day. They also had a great hayride, a coffee truck and a bunch of animals to check out … even Tom the Turkey.

We capped it off by going to Kimberly Farm. They have a fantastic farm stand with pies, milk, deelllicccciiiiooouusssssss ice cream and lots of other yummy treats. We even got to see their larger than life cow that was made to look just like the first cow John Imberly ever owned. How cool is that?!?!?!

Of the numerous pumpkins we brought home Jackson picked the perfect one to carve. Monster truck them as usual … but he was felling spooky so he added a bat too. Check out the lit up smokestack!

Hope your adventures were just as fun!

Make sure to like and share our page so others can learn about the fun we are having.

Boom

Boom

Mile: 106,660

The Town of New Milford postponed their fireworks due to a rainout from the 4th of July. We parked Ole Red by a farm field that has a great viewing area under the sound of crickets and cows. It takes me back to my childhood when we used to watch the Shepaug fireworks and love being able to share this with Jackson. Thankfully, Jackson and I made our “patriotic” playlist this year so it got some heavy play while we waited for darkness to settle in until the show started. The show did not disappoint.

Hope your day was just as fun as ours!

Bethlehem Fair

Bethlehem Fair

Mile 106,580

We picked Action Jackson up at school and told him we were ready for his next adventure and asked him what did he want to choose: Fair or Food? He said Fair and Food at the Fair! Sounded like a good choice to us so off to the Bethlehem Fiar it was

We got to see all kinds of things, hugggeeee pumpkins, all kinds of veggies both large and perfect, all kinds of crafts made by kids, photography and so much more.

The animal barns were full of energy with animals of all sizes from a few days old to the elders of the farm family. We also got to watch the mini-pony pull which Jackson loved to watch.

One of the newer things at fairs in our area is the lumberjack competition from local area high schools. 3 high schools have “Timber Teams” and compete against each other. It was nice to see their teamwork and a lesson to Jackson on working together.

It was a little blustery up o the hill as night approached so Heather was able to get an official Bethlehem Fair hoodie. Hope your adventure today was as fun as ours!
