We have a newer ice cream in shop downtown called Grass Roots Ice Cream. After dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, La Piccolina, we headed over. Before we get to the ice cream he loves his pasta at La Piccolina. They had make penne pasta and they have fresh ground Parmesan cheese. His favorite saying is, “More cheese please!”
He always makes sure to leave just enough room for a little ice cream.
This time he went topping free but with an extra scoop. I can;t remember the flavor because he has been swiping it up lately. Needless to say, he enjoyed it!

Mile: 114,550 It’s fair season! Off to the Goshen Fair up in Goshen, Connecticut. We made sure to get up there a little early to beat the heat … which we sorta did. Heather got her apple crisp which she loves. Jackson got his slushies…

Mile: Many
We have started a new tradition the last couple years where we get away to Cape Cod before Action Jackson reports for duty back at school. It is also his birthday so he enjoys finding little things there.
We started out by staying in Falmouth. Action Jackson had never been to Plymouth Rock before so we showed him the Mayflower recreation and the good ole rock itself. Go figure … there was a chocolate and ice cream shop directly underneath our room! Heaven indeed!
Then we ventured off to Dennis Port for the second leg of our trip. Heather got in some retail therapy, Jackson found some Bruder trucks and construction equipment and I got to fill my belly with ha bunch of seafood. A little something for everyone.
We got to see a really cool old village so Jackson could see what life was like before plumbing and electricity. We even got to a grist mill where he got to make flour out of corn. Not sure he would be cutout for that long term!
The weather was a little stormy so we made the best of it and got Jackson a kite. Boy did he get it up there. No hotels were harmed in the making of his kite adventure.

We took a little pit stop in the next Town over to Jj Stacks. This place has become a new favorite for us as they have some yummy food.
They actually had some live music which was great. Jackson and I horsed around while we waited with his Bigfoot monster truck and played a few games.
I had the Philly cheesesteak which was dellllliccccciooouuuus!
Jackson had some Mac and cheese and a huge ass pretzel!
I forget what Heather had but she liked it as you can see by the picture of Jackson having to tuck her in with a full belly.
