On this Christmas Eve, Jackson, Heather and I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

This weekends adventures was all about trains! The Wilton Historical Society was new to ya but boy oh boy was it a great time! They had a massive setup of trains in the basement and Jackson was memorized by the hundreds and hundreds of feet of track and villages.

We also walked through the building and got to play in a historical kitchen. Jackson loved the telephone and learned that back in the day you had to wind up the phone!!

We also got to see a blacksmith in action who made some hooks and we got a history lesson on blacksmithing.

After that it was to New Milford and Gallery 25 where we got to see even more trains and Santa was there to boot!

We are trying to patiently wait to see what Santa may bring us. Jackson is confident that he is on the nice list so I think it is going to be a great day tomorrow.

Ho ho Ho! Merry Christmas and please let us know about your adventures!

Give us a like and share if this reminds you of an adventure you might have once been on. Thanks for following along!

Destination: Christmas Tree

Destination: Christmas Tree

Mile: 101,516

Saturday was one of those days as a Father I’ll look back on in 20 years and still be grinning from ear to ear. It will be one of those memories that will be as vivid as the day it happened.

Jackson has been excited for weeks to “cut down a tree in the forest.” So off to Angevine Farm in Warren it was. A family tree and pumpkin farm they have all kinds of trees and types to choose from. A brisk winter chill was in the air and with snow on the way it was time to get lookin.

Hiking up a large hill we found a stand of Balsalm trees. As you can see Jackson loved exploring between them. After searching for the perfect tree it was time to cut that sucker down! Jackson loved watching me drag the tree up the hill on a tarp almost as much as he loved giggling and running down the hill with mom!

After warming up Mom and Jackson in Ole Red it was time to load up the tree and fill our bellies with some warm food. We stopped at the 202 Tavern and got some yummy food.

We then got back in to Town to watch the trees be turned on at The Green and Santa was on the Bandstand. Once Jackson locked eyes he didn’t let go of the vision of Santa Claus coming to HIS Town! Then Mom and Jackson has to warm their butts up in front of the fire before we got the tree up! Also snuck in a little hot chocolate and LOTS of marshmallows.

Stay Merry my friends. The adventures have just begun …

Special thanks to Michael Boucher if some great shots downtown!
