Pumpkin Blaze

Pumpkin Blaze

Mile: 118,659

It’s been a minute. Action Jackson has been VERY busy with baseball! Travel is over and in house only has a few more weeks left. Yesterday, I wasn’t most proud of his home run or his line drive he smoked … instead it was how he went and consoled his buddy Caden after he struck out. Caden was very upset and I explained to Jackson how much Caden would appreciate a little support at that moment and Jackson went over, reassured him and patted him on the back and turned his frown upside down. That was the best part of my week to be honest with you! Made me VERY proud to be his dad!

Last night it was off to the great Jack O’Lantern Blaze in Sleepy Hollow. There was a little fog in the air which made it different and interesting. They had some new scenes so it made it worth the drive.

Jackson still managed to pound down 2 donuts and some apple cider!

Jackson is definitely getting older because he doesn’t automatically fall asleep like he used to on the way home.

Time is fleeting… appreciate it while you can with those you love!

Popey’s and Dessert

We made a quick jaunt up to Popey’s for some Mac and Cheese for Action Jackson. We then stopped and got some ice cream at Kimberly Farm.

Boy does Ole Red sure bring out the reactions in Jackson! I love that he is constantly giggling and hope he never stops smiling. Life is too short to do anything different!

Please like and share so everyone can follow along on our adventures in this old, beat-up pickup truck that puts smiles on our faces and others as we meander from adventure to adventure!

Trains, Tractors and Lots of Lights

Trains, Tractors and Lots of Lights

Mile: 115,045

It was an action packed couple days!

Action Jackson is out of school so he got to spend some time with Papa and Uncle Kyle overseeing our job site. He was pretty tuckered out but still insistent that we spread some Christmas Cheer in Ole Red, which we did!

Saturday was off to the Northern Lights Limited put on by the Railroad Museum of New England. First, we went to Santa’s workshop to pick up Santa. While we wanted for Santa to come to our car Jackson got to play rock, paper, scissors with Rudolph …. And he won! Then we went for a ride along with Santa spending some time interrogating Jackson on if he was naughty or nice. Along the ride we received some hot chocolate, a cookie, a bell and a really cool ornament. Before leaving we hit up the gift shop and found some amazing sleigh bells for the sleigh we tow behind Ole Red.

It was time to rush back into Town. In a flash, we had the sleigh bells hooked up to our sleigh and then we filled our truck with boxes of candy canes. Our Town had a light parade where over 150 trucks, tractors, boats, wagons, fire trucks, quads, excavator, site trucks and whatever else you could think of were decorated with lights. We got back late but were able to drive a part of the route not long after it ended. We were able to throw out literally thousands of mini candy canes to the hundreds and hundreds of kids … and adults …. Who were grinning from ear to ear hearing us blast our music and see the lights. Then it was off to hide a gift card for the night for someone local to win!

It was a great day AND a great night. Can’t wait to see what the next week will bring.
